Oreo Bats

Do you love Halloween as much as I do?! I’m always looking forward to autumn. As soon as there are different kinds of pumpkins in the supermarket, Halloween has arrived. I start to cuddle up at home with a tasty tea in my hand and watch scary movies. But of course there is still one little thing missing: a delicious halloween treat.

Mummies in a puff pastry coat

The snacks are not very healthy but I think balance is the key. This year I decided to bake sweet mummies in puff pastry. This recipe is incredibly easy to make (with only 3 ingredients!!!) and very tasty. For kids it’s probably a hit like my other recipe!

How do you create eyes?

For the eyes there are several possibilities, either you buy already finished sugar eyes (this is of course the easiest possibility) or you make eyes out of fondant. I actually made them with Oreo cookies. I separated the cream and added it on the puff pastry. After that I simply pressed a chocolate drop into it (but only do it when the mummies are no longer hot).

  • Unroll the pastry and cut one sheet into 12 rectangles
  • Spread peanut butter and then strawberry jam on the rectangles
  • Place puff pastry stripes on your filling, so that it looks like a Mummy and gently press the edges to seal
  • Then brush it with water and put it in the oven for about 15 minutes

Bat Cupcakes

Bat Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting

My second Halloween snack are Oreo Bats on a Chocolate Cupcake with Peanut Butter Frosting. A very tasty snack, it is also perfect for Halloween parties but you have to spend more time preparing them.
